Common secretaries representing 5 million staff urge the federal government to reject findings of the Tony Sewell fee

Commerce union leaders have written to the prime minister, calling on him to reject the “insulting” report revealed by the Commission on Race and Ethnic Disparities.

In a letter seen by the Observer, 33 commerce union basic secretaries representing greater than 5 million staff have urged the federal government to “decide a special path”, noting that “there isn't any battle between defending working-class pursuits and pushing for equality for BME [black and minority ethnic] staff. Immediately’s working class is multi-ethnic and multi-faith.”
